Why Use a Powder?

Say NO to fillers and artificial colors

Our pet supplement powder is better then gummies or chews for several simple reasons

1. Heat Damage:

  • The extrusion process (used to make most chews and kibble) typically reaches temperatures between 250°F and 350°F (120°C - 180°C).
  • At these temperatures, studies show a loss of 30% to 50% of heat-sensitive vitamins (like Vitamin A, C, and B-complex).

Probiotics are almost entirely killed above 120°F unless specifically micro-encapsulated (which most chews are not).

Filler Volume:

  • Soft chews typically require 15% to 35% inactive binders and fillers (like potato starch, chickpea flour, or palm oil) just to hold their shape.
  • Flavoring agents often make up another 15% to 25% of the chew to mask the taste of the medicine.
  • This means in a single chew, up to 50-60% of what the dog eats is non-medicinal "carrier" material.

Absorption:

  • Powders mixed with food have a larger surface area, often leading to faster dissolution and absorption in the digestive tract compared to a dense, compressed chew that must be broken down.
